Lisa and I just got back from one of the local lakes. She wanted to take the kids for a ride and that's where we went. It was pretty nice down there, not too many people around. Emily was a little disappointed I think that she didn't get to see any deer but she was able to pick a flower so she was happy I think. The boys simply want to run around and throw rocks in the water. Seems like I can remember being like that myself.

Coffee in hand I am about to start another 3 kid weekend. When I checked my mail this morning Norton kicked up a virus in an attachment, I hope that it's not a sign of how the next two days are going to be.

It sounds like I’m in for a few night shifts coming up next week. There was a time not too long ago that all I ever worked was nights. Now that I’m converted over to working days I kind of like them better I think. Sometimes I miss the night work but the days agree with my home life more. If all goes well then a week of it and I’ll be back to normal. Once I made the comment that if they put me on days I’d quit, now that they have I actually like it and don’t want nights anymore. A few here and there is okay I guess but they don’t ask me, they just make a schedule and I work it.

Here’s a neat deal that I got from a mailing list I’m on.

Tonight was a first for me. Just about every time I cook something I manage to set off the smoke detector in the hallway. Well, tonight I got that one and the one in the laundry room going too. I must be improving.

Found a sat pic of the house. That's kinda cool but I'm trying to figure out what the little cross looking thingys are. If that's where they plan to drop something then Phil's garden is toast.

Tom was just here and left us a bird. He was up last night and since he's moving and can’t take “Julio” the cockatiel with him he’s moved in here. Lisa offered to take him and so here he is. I was a little surprised on how “talkative” he is. Not so much words but he can sing several tunes. Quite loudly too. This is going to take some getting used to, I was reading that they live 12 to 15 years on average.

The weather has put a damper on my yard work that I had planned for the day. Hopefully it’s going to clear up before much longer. There still might be time to get some stuff done if it does. I still need to get to Lisa’s mom’s house and cut up her tree branches.

After figuring the bills Lisa and I headed for Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Menards this afternoon. We got some new carpet for the front steps and when we got home, one thing lead to another and I ended up taking the chainsaw to a very large bush by the steps. We just decided to take it clear out instead of trimming it back like the original plan was. I’m probably going to do a couple more in the morning. That is if it’s not raining like it is supposed to. It would be much better if we could have some decent weather so that we could do something productive but that has been in short supply around here the last few days.
